BKM Competes in AIA Baltimore’s Chef Night
On Tuesday evening, BKM competed in AIA Baltimore’s beloved Celebrity Chef Night. This was the fourth annual event organized by the AIA Baltimore Chapter and the Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF), which gave local A/E/C industry folks a chance to compete, eat, drink, and network. B-More Kitchen hosted the event, utilizing their food incubator space. BKM designed B-More Kitchen with Richter Cornbrooks Gribble, Inc. (RCG) back in 2014.
Firms could compete in the hors d’oeuvres, main course, and dessert categories. Judging was determined by local celebrity chefs and guests’ popular vote. With May the Fourth coming up on Friday of this week, BKM chefs presented a Star Wars-themed appetizer titled “BLT-3PO Jam.” While this bacon jam dish was a crowd hit, it did not win the top dish in its category. BKM folks had a blast cooking, competing, and socializing at the event. Our chefs had no shortage of Star Wars jokes and puns.
Proceeds of the event were donated to the AIA Baltimore and BAF’s scholarship programs for students in architecture at Morgan State University and Maryland schools, as well as the Future Architects Resources/Kids in Design outreach and education programs for underserved students to encourage A/E/C career path opportunities.
