This project included the design for the construction of a new second-floor addition to the preexisting cafeteria/wrestling gymnasium building and 10,000-square-foot renovation. The new dining hall was fit-out with a full commercial kitchen, servery, and 360-seat dining room.
BKM provided MEP design services, as well as fire protection and fire alarm design. A 25-ton direct expansion rooftop air handling unit with gas heat and energy recovery was provided for HVAC. Additionally, a new 120/208-volt electrical service and 2,000-Amp switchboard was provided to serve the new dining hall and the existing adjacent gymnasiums. This project was design to achieve LEED Silver certification with an energy efficient HVAC system, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and fundamental and enhanced commission.
