It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Thomas Vernon Murphy, Jr. on January 6, 2020.

Thomas Murphy was a founder of Burdette Koehler Murphy & Associates, Inc., along with Jack Burdette and Lou Koehler. Mr. Murphy (as he will always be known to those who worked with him) was an extremely intelligent engineer and a man of very high character. He lived an extraordinary life as a World War II fighter pilot, a business owner and family man to seven children.

Through the way he conducted his private life and his practice of engineering, he inspires us to live up to the highest ideals and ethics.Our hearts and prayers go out to Mr. Murphy’s family.

Mr. Murphy was a beloved husband, devoted father, loving grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 4. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26), on Wednesday, January 8th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, Towson, MD, Thursday, January 9th, 10 AM. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Memory of Thomas Murphy, Class of 1940, Mt. St. Joseph High School Alumni, 4403 Frederick Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229.
