BKM provided the MEP design services for a new, four-story greenhouse type senior living facility.
Each floor has a typical plan and houses 12 elders, featuring private bedrooms and bathrooms for each elder which surround a common “hearth” area on each floor. The “hearth” consisted of a living room, commercial grade kitchen, dining room, and den. The basement of the building was able to provide storage for the residents as well as office space for GEDCO, the development corporation that owns the building. The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
