BKM provided MEP design services for the new headquarters for the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF), located in Baltimore’s Locust Point neighborhood.
MAIF’s headquarters takes over the buildings third and fourth floors, a total of 55,000-square-feet, which were newly added to the existing Phillips Seafood building. The facility includes large open office space, multiple conference rooms, training rooms, and a critical IT server room provided with redundant in-row cooling and pre-action sprinkler system. Its sustainable features include the utilization of energy efficient lighting, low flow plumbing fixtures, and base building variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system. The project received Gold certification under LEED Commercial Interiors.
