Polytechnic High School HVAC Systemic Renovation

As the prime consultant on an on-call contract, BKM provided design for extension of 13.2kV primary service and campus distribution system to support HVAC upgrades for 680,000-square-feet combined Polytechnic and Western High Schools campus for Baltimore City Public Schools.

Design included extension of existing 600A primary switchgear, replacing one existing fuse bay and providing two new fused load-interrupter switch bays to serve two new 13.2kV – 480/277V pad mounted transformers and 480V distribution to provide adequate power for new HVAC equipment, including detailed conduit routing design for new medium and low voltage feeders.  Total new capacity of 3.5MVA, including additional capacity for planned future expansion
